Owner Bio

Maine native in my 50s (pretty much been here all my life), I live in Kennebunk, Maine with my wife.  Cape Porpoise is indeed a real place (part of Kennebunkport) and is a beautiful little fishing village.  There is also a Goat Island off the coast, with a quaint lighthouse too.  Oh, and the Shipyard Brewing Company located within a mile of my home does indeed produce a brew of that name: Goat Island Light.

In my professional life I own an advertising agency with about 38 wonderfully talented people gainfully employed.  We specialize in creating radio and television ads, with websites and digital thrown in these days.  We do okay by ourselves, and have clients from coast to coast.

In my personal life, I have been happily married for 30+ years.  We have three boys, all grown up and “off the payroll”, as they say.  One works for the Seattle Mariners.  All three either play or played sports on the collegiate level, though not baseball.  We are Red Sox fans.  As recently as a decade ago that meant a self-deprecating joke about long-term suffering and heartache, but since 2004, 2007, 2013 & 2018,  we're pretty much over that now.  I have a full season ticket plan (81 games) to the Boston Red Sox. If you are ever in Boston for a game, or in Maine for a lobster roll, look me up.

As far as DMB goes, it is a great hobby.  I do not belong to any other leagues, and am very happy to be a member of the VBG.   It's a great league.  Although I am a fan of current MLB, I much prefer historical DMB seasons.  Researching and learning about players I never knew about is especially gratifying. The rest of my DMB time is spent in the fictional universe of Boothby Marsh … check it out sometime in the DMB TapaTalk boards.
